the opportunity

As you consider giving to the building fund, the most crucial step in which you must engage is examining your motives before God. We encourage you to hold off on giving any money to the building fund until you have started the process of probing your own heart as to where God might be leading you. Your walk with Christ provides you with the context to give from a cheerful heart.

Growing in your relationship with Christ takes place in two contexts: COMMUNITY and SERVICE. When we are known, loved, and cared for in community, we want to share our experience with others. This creates in us a desire to serve others as well as the freedom to LIVE GENEROUSLY with our lives, talents, time and money. One way to put this into practice is taking ownership of the mission God has given PC3.

We want to extend to you an invitation to participate as a result of what Christ is doing in your own life. We are not going to create some fundraising scheme or burden you with guilt-trips over your need to give. If we were to limit this experience to being solely about money for a building campaign, we'd be completely missing the point. It is our hope that you would grow closer to Christ and begin to live generously in every area of your life as you engage in this process.

We are free to live generously when we understand that everything we have is a gift from God. The Bible commands us to give back some of what God has given us by setting the standard of the tithe. This simply means giving 10% of your income – one dime for every dollar you earn. We don't want you to "pledge" to the building fund until you begin to practice the discipline of tithing. Why? For the simple reason that God is the provider of everything we have and everything we need. To "offer" the first 10% is simply an acknowledgement of that, and it opens up the door of God's grace and His provision.
