becoming a small group leader

At PC3 we place a premium on those who are actively engaged in helping others walk with God ' namely small group leaders. We have designed a process to help potential small group leaders prayerfully investigate whether or not leading a small group is the area of ministry for them. If you have any questions please email wayne@portcitychurch.org. The process is:
  1. Prayerfully read An Introduction to Small Groupology and complete the reflection questions. Click here to download the PDF.
  2. Complete the Small Group Leader Application at the end of An Introduction to Small Groupology and turn it into Wayne Harris, Executive Director of Group Life.
  3. Complete an interview with a member of the small group team. This isn't like a 'job interview' but rather it is designed to discuss what you might believe to be your next step in obedience concerning leading a small group as well as to answer any questions or concerns you might have.
  4. Attend a Small Group Leader's Orientation(this is a three hour training event designed to give you the tools you will need as you begin leading your small group).
  5. Attend the appropriate Group Connection where you will meet your new small group!

Because small groups are at the heart of Port City Community Church, small group leaders are vital to us fulfilling our mission of reaching people and helping them walk with God.

Small group leaders at Port City come from many different places and walks in life but the one thing they have in common is their desire to walk with God and help other people along the way!
