In God’s Word there are many different postures of worship (kneeling, hands raised, shouts of praise, etc.) and at Port City Community Church we hope to create an environment that allows His people to respond to Him in the ways that He has deemed appropriate. The Bible teaches a beautiful balance between “playing skillfully to the Lord” and “making a joyful noise” in our praise, thus we are not looking to have the slickest performance in town. We seek only to glorify God, to lift Him up and watch as He draws all men to himself. It’s not about a performance; it’s not about a show; it’s not about the band or the singers. It’s all about Jesus and exalting Him. Anyone on our team must be marked by the same conviction.
We’re always looking for individuals who have hearts for God and a passion for music; worshipers sensitive to the Holy Spirit and in tune with progressive musical culture. Anyone interested in auditioning to be a part of the worship team must be at least 16 years of age and in a PC3 small group with a minimum of three months regular attendance. You must also fill out an Information Sheet, sign the Commitment Form, and provide us with a demo recording. This demo could be a studio recording, a live recording, Youtube video or even a handheld recorder. We simply need to have a recording of you playing or singing. You can turn all this information in either to the Front Desk during the week or Guest Services on a Sunday.
