We are working in partnership with a group of New Tribes Mission missionaries who serve among an unreached people group in a village in Guinea, West Africa. These missionaries have spent years learning the tribal language and establishing solid, meaningful relationships with the people in the village. After becoming intimately knowledgeable of the language and culture, the missionaries will be able to share the gospel with the villagers and provide them with a Bible translated in their own language.

Working alongside key nationals, the missionaries wrote out a phonetic alphabet, then a dictionary, and then they were able to develop language primers and begin teaching some of the people how to read and write their own language. With this work, there is hope these people will come to know Christ and develop personal relationships with God.

Port City has been privileged to be able to financially support some projects to help improve the quality of life in the village, thereby showing the villagers love and helping the missionaries gain even greater favor with them. Projects we have helped with include road improvements (to ensure passage into the village during the rainy season), building a rice storage shelter, installing a well pump, conducting a dental clinic and providing dental training to one of the villagers, and providing a tractor for improved agricultural methods. We have had the honor of being more closely involved with the development of the language teaching materials and are looking forward to assisting in printing a Bible for these beautiful people.
