Through an organization based in Central America called Pray America, PC3 is helping build homes for widows and their children in the mountains of Guatemala. These families were left widowed and fatherless by years of civil war that ravaged this country. Pray America works predominantly among the Quiche Indians. They not only coordinate home-building efforts for these homeless families, they also operate feeding centers for the children and offer Bible studies for the families. short-term team members serve by helping with construction, usually completing four or five homes within a week. With each home completion, the family is presented with a basket of staples and a Bible. Through local workers’ translation, the story of Christ is shared – a story many of the recipients have never heard. The free gift of a home they have just received provides an illustration to help their understanding of the free gift of salvation we have received from God through Jesus. Team members also help serve in the feeding centers and in various other projects Pray America organizes. One such project is distribution of vitamins and supplies at local schools in need. The impact of this organization is evident in the surrounding communities and also in those of us who go and serve there.
Through our work with Answering the Call, PC3 has helped build a training center in Central America. This training center will provide a safe place for pastors, missionaries, and lay workers from other countries to receive training, equipping, encouragement, and a respite from the difficulties they face – many are from areas where religious persecution is prevalent.
To date, PC3 has sent many teams to this area to assist with site work and construction of the pastors’ dorms. Now that two pastors’ dorms and the main building are complete, short-term missions will focus more on serving and ministering to the pastors and working alongside local churches in community outreach.

Please pray for:
- The work of Pray America, which is already a light in the community, that it will become a testimony of Christ in all of Guatemala.
- The pastors – that they will be allowed to travel from their countries so they can be ministered to at the training center.
- Randy and Julie R. who, from the body of PC3, moved to this area to live and share Christ in their community through serving others.
- The short-term teams that travel to/work in these areas.
