HOPE 127 - Kenya Project
Port City Community Church has partnered with Pastor Jackson Mwangi and the Victorious Gospel International Church of Kenya. Pastor Jackson and his wife, Peninah (Mama Hellen) have been filled with the Godly passion to help the street children of Nakuru; letting each of them know how much God loves them and values them. God planted in them the vision of providing a home and school for these children - Mama Hellen's Rehabilitation Center. As the boys come to the Center they are counseled and cared for. The living skills of faith, discipline, co-operation, and manners are taught and replace the survival skills of the street. Pastor Jackson continues to take care of these boys - like a father - fully trusting God will provide. Once rehabilitated, the boys continue their education at a Christian boarding school or receive vocational training. While the boys continue their education away at school, Pastor Jackson is able to continue his work of bringing more children in off the streets to love, care for, rehabilitate, and prepare them to assimilate into school. The hope is that, with this rehabilitation and education, they will develop into whole, God-loving adults. We feel blessed to be able to help in building and operating this center which is now home to almost 50 boys rescued from street life.
How Can I Be Involved?
Pray:
Pray for PC3's partnership with Pastor Jackson and the work being done at Mama Hellen's Rehabilitation Center. Pray for the boys and their physical, spiritual, and emotional development. Pray for strength for Pastor Jackson and Mama Hellen as they continue to care for and minister to the children at Mama Hellen's Rehabilitation Center.
Sponsor a child:
You can sign up to sponsor a child from Mama Hellen's Rehabilitation Center. Sponsors commit to pray regularly for their child and contribute $30 monthly which is used feed, clothe, and educate their child. Sponsors will have the opportunity to get to know their child by corresponding through letters, receiving periodic updates, and are encouraged to visit the Center on one of the short term missions offered through PC3. Support the Center Financially:
You can sign up to become a Friend of Mama Hellen. Friends commit to regularly pray for and contribute financially to Mama Hellen's Rehabilitation Center. These supporters along with the sponsors will periodically receive updates from Pastor Jackson. Any monthly commitment is welcomed. HOPE 127 also accepts general donations. Your contribution will be used to provide goods and services that are necessary for supporting the growth of the children and the operation of the Center.
