Without volunteers, Grow Zone would not be possible! Listed below are the types of volunteer opportunities we have in GZ. If you are interested in volunteering with GZ, first download the Family Ministries Volunteer Application PDF below and then email Sara Griffin the Grow Zone Volunteer Coordinator. All Sunday volunteers go through training on Grow Zone's policies and procedures as well as a background check before serving.
Teacher:
- Serves every Sunday in the same room during one service.
- Teaches children and engages them in appropriate planned activities.
- Establishes a familiar schedule and makes sure the specific needs of each child are met.
- Attends mandatory meetings once every four months.
Support Staff:
- Serves twice a month in a specific room during one service.
- Assists teacher in planned activities.
- Supports teacher as specific needs of each child are met.
- Attends 1 mandatory meeting per year.
Team Leader:
- Serves once or twice a month during one service.
- Assists in check-in and pick-up procedures.
- Performs administrative duties during the service and floats from room to room, being available to provide assistance as needed. (i.e. taking attendance, setting out papers, paging parent, etc.)
- Maintains proper security.
Host:
- Serves twice a month during one service.
- Checks/registers children into Grow Zone.
- Assists in Grow Zone pick-up procedure.
- Maintains proper security during check-in and pick-up times.
Safety:
- Serves twice a month during one service.
- Mans Grow Zone entrance during service.
- Allows entry to only Grow Zone parents and volunteers.
