At Port City Community Church, we do not participate in Infant Baptisms, but we do believe in marking moments where you will consecrate and dedicate your child and yourselves to the purposes God has established for your family.
Registration opens up one month prior to each orientation.
Overview
In Deuteronomy 6, God is speaking through Moses to the people of Israel—he is speaking directly to the fathers, and this is what is said:
Deuteronomy 6: 1-2 (NASB)
1 "Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the judgments which the LORD your God has commanded me to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you are going over to possess it,
2 so that you and your son and your grandson might fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you...
It is interesting… you are commanded to keep God’s commandments so that your children and your grandchildren will stand in awe of God. We say it like this: The purpose of your family is for your children’s children to know God as God! The way this is established is not through more Sunday School programs or religious rituals, but simply through the way you live your life. Keep reading:
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NASB)
6 "These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.
7 "You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.
You are commanded to teach your children in the ordinary moments of your life. The way we have structured PC3 is simply to partner with you as you take responsibility for the spiritual development of your children. Every thing we do is designed to work with you—to come alongside of your family and help your children walk with God!
Legacy provides us with a way to mark this important moment in the life of your family. We do this through a two-part process. First, parents attend an Orientation to learn more about what it means and to be given tools to complete the process. A month after the Orientation, there is the Celebration. At the Celebration, parents and their little ones are joined by family and friends as a public commitment is made to raise their children to know Christ and stand in awe of God.

We are so pleased to have you and your child a part of Legacy!
It is important to note that Legacy is a two-part process; you will commit to attend both an orientation as well as a celebration.
At the orientation, you will receive information about Legacy and will be given tools on how to complete the process. At the celebration, you will be able to mark the moment with your little one! This will be a time to share with your family members and friends what you have committed to and to invite them to walk alongside you.
Please note that you must commit to both dates, the orientation and celebration. If you are able to attend one, but not the other, then it is best to wait until the next scheduled Legacy block.
If you have any questions, please email Legacy.
Legacy pairs an Orientation meeting with a Celebration approximately one month later.
